- Albuquerque, NM (December 2002)
Jim Beatty from NCS
International visited the Albuquerque
area December 30th and 31st. AED helped host
Mr. Beatty along with our allies PNM, the Metro
New Mexico Development Alliance, and Rio Rancho
Economic Development. Mr. Beatty is a well-known
site location consultant and author of many
books and articles regarding back office locations.
Mr. Beatty will be writing an article in Customer
Interaction Solutions magazine in February,
which is expected to highlight the many assets
and success stories that theAlbuquerque area
has for back office locations.
- Atlanta, GA (December 2002)
AED staff visited site location professionals
and prospective companies in the Atlanta area
to promote the Albuquerque metro area as a potential
business location.
- San Francisco Bay Area & Silicon
Valley, CA (November 2002)
Governor Elect Bill Richardson asked AED to
organize a business development trip to California,
taken just 8 days after his election. AED President
Gary Tonjes and NM Economic Development Department
Cabinet Secretary Designate Rick Homans joined
Mr. Richardson for visits to severalcorporations.
Among the meetings: thank you appointments with
Craig Barrett and Paul Ottelini of Intel and
Kris Chellam of Xilinx, two leading corporations
with a presence in the Albuquerque metro area.
- Phoenix, AZ (August 2002)
AED traveled to Phoenix to attend the CoreNet
Global Arizona Chapter meeting and to call on
consultants to industry.
- Dallas, TX (August 2002)
AED traveled to Dallas Ft. Worth to
meet with ten different corporate and consulting
firm representatives about the Albuquerque metro
area.
- New York/New Jersey (May 2002) AED
traveled to New York/New Jersey to call on seven
major site selection consulting firms promoting
the Albuquerque metro as a viable business location.
- Chicago, IL (May 2002)
AED traveled to Chicago to meet directly with
company officials and site selection consultants.
- San Jose, CA (April 2002)
AED traveled to Silicon Valley to meet with
company officials, venture capital firms, and
real estate consultants.
