2003 Consultant / Company Visits

  • New York City/New Jersey (May 2003)
    AED staff met with representatives of six site location consultants and two other companies during this business development trip. AED makes at least one marketing trip per year to the New York City area.
  • Atlanta (May 2003)
    AED visited Atlanta May 6th to call upon nine location consultants/real estate advisors in the area. Those visited included consultants that AED is currently working active projects with, consultants AED has worked with in the past, and new consultants AED is establishing relationships with. AED last visited Atlanta in December 2002 and plans to visit again in October 2003.
  • San Francisco (April 2003)
    U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman and his State Director Terry Brunner joined AED's Gary Tonjes for meetings with top executives from two of the nation's leading corporations. Among those called on were Gap Inc.'s founder and Chairman Donald Fisher and the company's new executive vice president and chief financial officer, Byron Pollitt, Jr. The meeting was arranged by Michael Zientek, vice president of Gap's Corporate Shared Service Center in downtown Albuquerque. Mr. Zientek was also in attendance.
  • Los Angeles (March 2003)
    AED staff met one site location consultant and two manufacturers considering the Albuquerque metro area.
  • Phoenix (March 2003)
    AED traveled to Phoenix for a full day of meetings with representatives of five consulting and real estate advisory firms that assist expanding corporations.
  • Chicago (February 2003)
    AED called on three site location advisory firms in Chicago on February 20th. Additionally, AED President Gary Tonjes joined New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and his staff for an appreciation call on Health Care Service Corporation, which is in the process of a 500-employee expansion in Albuquerque through its Blue Cross Blue Shield New Mexico subsidiary. Separately, Governor Richardson and Chihuahuan Governor Patricio Martinez led a Commercial Mission to Chicago, "Enhancing Bonds to Profitable Business."
  • Los Angeles (February 2003)
    AED staff traveled to Los Angeles for two days of meetings with the representatives of ten different companies, consultants and real estate advisory firms, selling the Albuquerque metropolitan area for expanding corporations.
  • Dallas (January 2003)
    AED visited the Dallas area on January 22nd and 23rd to speak to existing clients, develop leads and establish relationships with site location consultants and real estate advisors in the Dallas metro area.
  • San Francisco/Bay Area (January 2003)
    AED staff traveled to California to call on site selection consultants and corporate representatives about the Albuquerque metro area.
